When producer Shorouk El Attar founded Yotta Productions in 2018, she was answering a call from an old love—filmmaking, which she had studied in the American University in Cairo. Those early days of writing ideas and creating short films with friends became the fertile ground for Shorouk’s career. She started her career at the prominent international news agency, Video Cairo Sat, led by the renowned Egyptian producer Mohamed Gohar AKA internationally as “The Media Pharoah”. She covered news stories from all over Egypt, which has enriched her storytelling passion. Few years later, she shifted to filmed entertainment as a freelance producer. For nearly a decade a half, she chose projects across various genres that held new challenges, new lessons to learn from, thus growing a body of experience and a portfolio of impressive work.

Known for her ability to deliver the highest of industry standards, Shorouk has been entrusted with some momentous local, regional, international and collaborative projects, such as: TV talk show “Sahibet Alsaada” (2014), the award-winning documentary “Under the Skin” (2015), “Ninja Warrior” (2017), the international game show, the Cannes-nominated film “Yomeddine” (2018), “One Block Behind” (2018), a 45-episode TV drama series, “Aladdin” (2019-2020), a musical comedy theatre, the hit Discovery series “Expedition Unknown”, the Saudi feature film “Fay’s Palette” (2021) and the Netflix documentary, Unknown: The Lost Pyramid (2023), which was ranked as Netflix’s most watched show in the world on the week of its release.
